What is Climate Justice Commons?
The Climate Justice Commons (CJC) is a collective of organizations working for climate justice in our Minnesota communities and beyond.
Whether we are doing work to decarbonize and build the climate resilience of our communities, bring urgent issues of Indigenous rights and climate justice to lawmakers and administrators, or support the next generation of climate leaders, we know that we are stronger when we do this work together.

What do we mean by Climate Justice?
What do we mean by climate justice?
We know that the same systems that separate us from each other also separate us from the Earth. Any solution to climate change must also recognize that the people who are least responsible for it are facing its harshest effects.
In order to build towards a greener and more sustainable future, we have to recognize the disparate impacts of climate change on Black, Indigenous, and Communities of Color, low-income communities, communities in the Global South, and others.
Climate justice calls us to repair the harms that have been created by systems of greed and extraction and to center the stories, experiences, and solutions of those most impacted by climate change in building a greener and more interconnected world. Climate Justice Commons seeks to address social and racial injustices as a necessary part of addressing climate change.
